My husband has been a resident for 4 years. During this time I have had peace of mind knowing he is well looked after and loved. The staff including management care deeply not just for the residents but their families as well.

The carers are amazing – very gentle and lovely even with the most challenging residents, nothing is too much trouble. Last year my husband and I renewed our vows and Hillbro gave us a ‘wedding’ complete with a reception and singer, and gave me some precious memories.

I asked if I could run a relatives group to provide a safe space for us to talk and get support. This now takes place monthly. Hillbro has given me another family.

Our mum spent the last few weeks of her life at Hillbro after a short stay in hospital. We were initially nervous about moving her into a nursing home but it turned out to be the best place for her to end her days and we were delighted with the level of care and compassion she received.

The home was always immaculate and we were always made to feel welcome when we visited our mum. There were always plenty of staff around and they dealt with any issues professionally. During her final few days, our mum was in bed all the time. The care and compassion of the nurses who dealt with her medical needs was exemplary. They kept us informed of what was happening during the final stages and this helped us enormously at this difficult time.

My sister and I shall always be so grateful to everyone in the Hillbro team for making the last weeks of our mum’s life as comfortable as possible.

My dad was in Grange Court for just over 2 months until he passed away. I can not praise the staff enough for their warmth, standard of professionalism and care. They also were lovely to me in those difficult final days. The level of care was very high.

I am so thankful there was a room for Mum when she needed it. She is now bed-bound, has Alzheimers, is virtually blind and incontinent. The staff are amazing with her. She is kept clean and tidy and is treated with respect and loving care. The relatives of residents are also cared for and considered.

The support from all staff has been above and beyond and has made a difficult and sad situation that bit more bearable. Thank you Hillbro.

Making the decision to entrust your loved one into someone else’s care is the hardest decision anyone can make

In May last year my husband was moved to Hillbro, there wasn’t any other nursing home I wanted for him as a family friend had been there for a while, so it came very highly recommended.

From day one, I saw how everyone was cared for and treated with the utmost kindness, compassion, respect and sensitivity by the very caring, trained staff. Indeed not only these lovely people but also the kitchen, laundry and housekeeping staff, who all work tirelessly to keep the residents happy, clean, well fed and most of all loved. They do all of this, often under difficult circumstances, with a smile and nothing is too much trouble for them. This includes relatives and visitors, who are looked after too and can visit any time for as long as necessary.

Hillbro is a very special, happy and totally unique environment. It is a lovely big family.

Excellent care at Grange Court

The home is exceptionally clean and the residents all very well cared for by the friendly staff. The home is well staffed and there is always someone on hand to discuss any concerns. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother is double incontinent and her changing needs are dealt with, an exemplary service. I have no stress or worries about her care, and we get regular updates on entertainment and activities going on during the week. I couldn’t have wished for more.”
